"I had a really weird dream. You found an egg on the floor so we picked it up and tied it to a piece of string attached to a door. A while later I went back to look at it and it hatched and three little chicks came out of it, two black and one yellow, I went to get you to tell you and found you in bed; you followed me to the kitchen where they'd hatched and one of the black chicks had turned into a tortoiseshell cat and the yellow one had turned into a puppy Bichon Frise, the other black one was still a chick and was in the sink. We fed the dog and the cat in little bowls and it was such fun."
I made Blueberry and Honey Fudge; photos to follow. I don't think I did it right though because it's still a bit runny 14 hours after I made it, after a night in the fridge. I was meant to heat the mixture to 116 degrees C, but found out my sugar thermometer was broke just as I started; so i'm not sure if I heated it properly.
I made my Strawberry Jam on Friday night too. That was fun.
...is what I made last night.
I've been struggling with a foccacia recipe that I got from Delicious Days for about a month, and after the most recent failure I decided to hunt out another recipe and try that. I stumbled upon a recipe on the BBC website which seemed slightly simplistic at first but, happily WORKED PERFECTLY; it has a beautiful crumb and a really lovely olive oil flavour. I'll try to get some photos soon...
I also did the first phase of making Jam. Gonna finish it off tonight, i'll keep you updated.
What do you usually do on Sunday?
I always try to do as little as possible, as I'm sure many do.
Yesterday I baked a steak and cannellini bean pie. It was nice.
